- What is the shortest length of material than can be used with the tailstock?
With the carriage gripping the end of the material, and the material held by the rollers in the front gate, the remaining material that cannot be processed (waste) would be 6” approx. - What happens after that?
Waste falls on the unload table, like other cut scrap. - Can the Ercocut EC245P cut 8″ x 8″ H Beam?
At max capacity of the EC245P is 50kg/M, therefore we can process HEA, which would be at max capacity, the HEB not.
Note, a 105 Amp source required for the thick 1/2″ web of the HEA.
The EC245P can do a 240mm square. - Are current machines modular and capable of being extended to 39 feet?
Yes, 12-meter max.
The machine is supplied with 12 meters (39′) of cable to allow for future extensions if necessary.
The standard 6‑meter machine includes an interpolated tube support within the main body, plus three modules, one of which contains an additional tube support.
For a 12‑meter configuration, two additional supports are required to equip the two unused modules from the 6‑meter setup.
On top of that, extending the system by three more modules requires three further supports.
This results in a total of five additional interpolated supports, which in turn requires an expanded electrical panel to accommodate the extra drives, bringing the total number of drives to 14. - What is the CML solution for 39-foot machines?
A semi-automatic unload table would be required, 3-meter min.
At least 3 meters of interpolated supports are required in front of the machine to safely hold the cut end of the profile.
Furthermore, H‑beams are commonly used in construction applications such as stairways.
It’s entirely possible that the operator will need to cut holes along the entire length and then cut the beam to size, which would require a full 12 meters of support after the torch. - What happens to weight capacity when extended?
